Benevolence Farm Goes to Law School ⚖️

February 19, 2024

Benevolence Farm’s Community Advocacy Director, Mona Evans, spoke before UNC Law students as part of a speaker program run by the Anti-Death Penalty Project. This student-run organization is dedicated to fighting against the use of capital punishment and advocating for prisoner’s rights. Their current theme, ‘Amplifying Voices on the Inside,’ aims to provide a platform for the voices of currently and formerly incarcerated individuals.

Mona shared her personal experience with incarceration and emphasized the crucial role played by her attorney, a UNC Law graduate, in her court case. She emphasized how critical mutual trust is in this client-attorney relationship, especially when the client is facing prison time and family separation.

Thank you to the great audience of law students who also became BF customers afterward!
