A World of Thanks

When we set our Giving Tuesday goal of $10,000, we called it a “stretch goal.” And yet, within 24 hours, y’all organized and contributed $10,500 to our efforts to invest in second chance employment right here in Alamance County, North Carolina. We cannot thank you enough.

Therefore, we wanted to solely focus this post on gratitude because there is so much we have to be thankful for.

A Very Happy Thanksgiving

Feast your eyes

Thanks to you, our residents were able to prepare an incredible Thanksgiving meal. We are BLOWN away by your generosity and kindness, and are so thankful to have this community.

We have so much to be grateful for, and we are motivated to send a formal “Thank You!” to each of you who have helped us over the past several months. Please help us show our gratitude!

If you:

  • Donated a Food Lion gift card;
  • Donated gift cards or clothing to our two newest residents;
  • Donated items through Amazon; or
  • Supported programming in any other way.

Please email your full name and address to our Program Manager, Alex, at alex@benevolencefarm.org. We would love the opportunity to send you a token of our appreciation.

Setting Records

Prepping the soap for a record weekend of sales

This year, we had to be aggressive with our online marketing. The pandemic means we can’t depend on our big in-person events like the Saxapahaw Holiday Market. So we went all in on Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday — and so did you.

In the month of November, you purchased $6,445.27 worth of body care products designed and made by formerly incarcerated women. For perspective, in 2019, we sold a little less than $5,000 for the entire year. Year to date, the body care enterprise has brought in $29,703.42.

Again, we cannot thank you enough. When you purchase a body care product from our store, you are directly investing in second chance employment for formerly incarcerated women. In 2021, it is our goal to sell at least $6,000 every month to cover all the wages. With your support, we think we can get there.
