Benevolence Farm manages a farming program that provides a critical connection to our rural community. We grow and sell fresh produce, flowers and herbs, and manufacture body care products infused with the very herbs and flowers grown on the 13-acre farm.
Part of Benevolence Farm’s wraparound services include employment and job readiness programming. Our workday consists of general farm chores such as planting, weeding, harvesting, and drying herbs and flowers, as well as making body care products and candles, packing online orders, and creating new products.
Residents also participate in Roots of Success, an environmental education and job training program that prepares students for jobs in the green economy. When all ten modules are completed, residents receive a pre-apprenticeship certificate from the U.S. Department of Labor.
