What’s Up, Wednesday: July 3rd

July 3, 2019 by Jenn Grimmett

This has been an incredible week for new community partnerships and connections! Last Thursday, we were a guest vendor at the Authentically Alamance Elon Community Church Farmer’s Market where we saw many familiar faces and were able to broaden the message of our work to new friends. On Saturday, we welcomed Scout Troop #9 to the farm, along with other beloved volunteers, who worked tirelessly to repair equipment, harvest chamomile flowers, garden, and pick up [more!] rocks in our field. Did I mention it was 90+ degrees out and no one asked to stop working? We are graced with some of the best energy and care from our community, and we are so grateful.

On Tuesday, we went to the North Park Farmer’s Market with buckets of freshly cut flowers from our garden, including some of the most gorgeous sunflowers around! Come visit us next Tuesday at North Park (3-6pm) to get your own vase full of the beauties.

Want to join us for Workday Wednesdays from 9am-12pm? Interested in volunteering to sell our body care products at a local market? Email jenn@benevolencefarm.org to get connected!

about Jenn Grimmett

My name is Jenn Grimmett. Born in the South, called Boston home for nearly two decades, and am now back in the Piedmont of North Carolina. Professionally, I have spent a great deal of time within the world of Academia. Personally, I have spent even more time engaging in various types of justice work.

My background includes years of program design for teams and groups looking to advance skills and knowledge in areas of diversity, inclusion, leadership, and cultural intelligence. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the important work happening at Benevolence Farm! Together we can! #wheresecondchancesgrownaturally
