What’s Up, Wednesday: June 26th!

June 26, 2019 by Jenn Grimmett

There is no force equal to a woman determined to rise.

W.E.B. Dubois

Happy Wednesday, folks! We have been working super hard this week to get our field in tip top shape. Thanks to our ever-so-faithful volunteers and program residents, we have certainly made good headway! This past week Jenn traveled to Durham to participate in D.I.Y. Fest 2019; so many great connections were made at this event! We even got to meet one of our wonderful customers who has continued to support our farm by purchasing our body care products through our online store; here’s the link if you’d like to take a peak!

We expect to have peppers and tomatoes available for purchase next week. Be on the lookout for information about where you can buy our delicious (and chemical free) produce!

This week, we will be at the Elon Farmer’s Market (Thursday, 6/27, 3-6pm) as a guest vendor. So, if you’re in the neighborhood, be sure to stop by! We have gotten positive feedback about the effectiveness of our Natural Insect Repellent, so if you will be heading out over the weekend or for the 4th of July holiday, be sure to come and pick up your very own bottle for only $4.00!

Lastly, we are having a volunteer work day this Saturday, 6/29 from 1-4pm. Registration ends at 12pm on Friday (6/28), so be sure to sign up if you’re interested in joining our volunteer team for the afternoon!

about Jenn Grimmett

My name is Jenn Grimmett. Born in the South, called Boston home for nearly two decades, and am now back in the Piedmont of North Carolina. Professionally, I have spent a great deal of time within the world of Academia. Personally, I have spent even more time engaging in various types of justice work.

My background includes years of program design for teams and groups looking to advance skills and knowledge in areas of diversity, inclusion, leadership, and cultural intelligence. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the important work happening at Benevolence Farm! Together we can! #wheresecondchancesgrownaturally
